Isha Foundation is an international, volunteer run organisation dedicated to address all aspects of human wellbeing.
Our activities are designed to create an inclusive culture that is the basis for global harmony and progress, through powerful yoga programs for inner transformation and inspiring projects for society and the environment. Our approach has gained worldwide recognition and reflects in Isha Foundation’s special consultative status with the economic and social council ECOSOC of the United Nations.
Today, over 7 million people worldwide have attended the Isha Yoga programs and 250,000 volunteers currently support our activities around the globe. We operate in over 150 cities in countries such as: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Singapore, the UAE, Uganda, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Since 2003, Isha Foundation's social outreach projects have been touching the lives of millions of people, improving and uplifting their quality of life. Action for Rural Rejuvenation (ARR) has serviced over 7 million people, through innovative ideas such as Mobile Health Clinics, Rural Health Centers and Rural Olympics. Project GreenHands (PGH) has received national and international acclaim for successfully planting more than 14 million trees with over 2 million volunteers since its inception in 2005. In 2006, 856,000 trees were planted in just 3 days, which earned the project a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Isha Vidhya Education offers English medium, holistic education to nearly 3,500 rural students in 8 schools in India. 60% of the students are on a full time scholarship, and many of the students are the first generation in their family to go to school.
